Tour Description
We start the excursion in the town of Bayahibe, by speedboat, or Motomoran, we will observe the Bayahibe Dominican town, and its chain of most important hotels, and enjoy the true Caribbean, we remind you that Punta Cana is located on the east coast, where we have the Atlantic, and Bayahibe and Saona island on the south-east coast, covered by Caribbean waters.
El Peñon
This area is located in the Cotubanama National Park, close to the natural pool, in this place we will make the first stop, to observe the beauty of nature and God's creation, we will only observe from the boat.
Natural pool
It is the largest and most beautiful pool that you can see in the middle of the sea, approximately half a meter deep, and with a length of approximately 8 square kilometers. The crystal clear waters and the tranquility will make you feel in paradise. We will also give you a drink of the famous vitamin R.
Lunch in Saona
After this rich bath, we will arrive at Saona Island, where we will enjoy a quiet beach and a pleasant atmosphere. But above all a typical and rich lunch. We will be at this stop for approximately one hour and thirty minutes, we will eat and rest a bit.
Canto de la Playa or Song of the Beach
It is the beach where tourists and natives want to go, away from the crowd. A place especially for you, secluded and apart from the other beaches of Saona, is the exquisite corner of the island. We will be here for approximately two hours, enjoying the roar of the wind, the white sand, and the turquoise blue water, you will want to stay in this paradisiacal place.
Mano Juan Village
Mano Juan is the main town on Saona Island since we also have Catuano, another smaller town. In Mano Juan, we have approximately 400 inhabitants, who are dedicated to fishing, agriculture, manufacturing of coconut oil, and few to handicrafts. We are going to walk its streets, and we will come into contact with the inhabitants of this place.
Turtle Sanctuary
The simple sanctuary is run by Negro, a former fisherman who used to hunt turtles and now dedicates his life to saving them. Throughout nesting season (March through November), Negro collects beach turtle eggs from all over the island and keeps them safe in coolers until they hatch and are ready to be released. At the sanctuary, visitors learn about the turtles, being allowed to see the eggs and sometimes even hold the baby turtles.
